HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to lil' cousin Kaylin!

Home For Sale

Well, my adopted family has decided to sell my home. I'm going to miss all the great times here, but I guess we can look forward to even better times to come! An American kitty by birth, a Missouri kitty by the Grace of God.

Breaking News:

"Folks it's bottom of the ninth with one exam left. Here's today's pitch... And... Jeremiah's hit a solid line drive just out of Madelyn's reach. OH! And goodness! She's scrambling for the ball! She can't quite pick it up! She can't pick it up! Jeremiah's rounding first base with time to squeeze in some more studying. Maddie's screaming. Now she's eating! Maddie's got the ball now, she's got the ball! She's crawling towards second--OH!--she got tired! Maddie has taken a nap right in the middle of Jeremiah's final play! He's rounded second with some brief outlining now. He's almost to third! WAIT! Maddie's waking up! She's waking up! Watch out! This is it! Coach Kenna just ran up at third and is yelling GO! GO! GO! You can do it! Jeremiah turns for the home stretch; Maddie grabs the ball and hurls it towards home! THIS IS GONNA BE CLOSE!!! And Jeremiah is... it's... he's... we're waiting for the dust to settle... wait just... SAAAAAFE! He's SAAAAAFE! The law school loses! Jeremiah made it! UNBELIEVABLE! Jeremiah made it! It's all over! Law school is all over!!!

Hope you had a nice Easter weekend.

We love this picture of Maddie's little cousin Kaylin! She really is a sweetie if you don't hand her off to over-sized, furry strangers.

"Just like a day at the park."

"Hurry up and take the picture so I can swing!"

Other than 2 finals, Jeremiah finished up his last law school classes on Thursday! It's hard to believe that his three year law school career is all but completed until April 20th.

Library arches.

Maddie enjoyed Dad's last day at law school after classes were out.

2006 Robert R. Merhige, Jr. National Environmental Law Negotiation Competition

  • I'm back from the Richmond negotiation competition. My team did not place but Regent's other team reached the final round and brought home the fourth place trophy!
  • If you have ever watched Dead Poets Society, there is a great scene where the young male university characters are viewing a trophy case with the tarnished spoils of competitions forgotten decades ago along with grand, faded, black & white photos of the school's championship sports teams. And as the camera slowly focuses in on the faces of those young athletes of a bygone era, the professor tells his students to listen carefully -- because the pictures -- the athletes-- are wispering something: "Carpe Diem" "Carpe Diem" "Sieze the Day".
  • That's the surreal feeling I get when I walk the historic grounds of the Richmond University campus. The university is 175 years old this year and is a showcase of natural and architectural beauty. As a setting in the context of American history one wonders what it must have been like to be on this campus during Andrew Jackson's presidency? The Civil War, etc? What famous or notable men & women in American history walked the very grounds that I walk today?
  • Carpe Diem.

Time out.

Rub a dub dub.

Sweet like honey.

Maddie learned to crawl a couple weeks ago. When she's not tearing the house apart, she's trying to catch me!

Here's to hopin' that the warm Spring weather is here to stay!

Look how tall Madelyn is!
